Situated on a private reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa, this luxury African safari lodge hosts a maximum of 20 guests in the utmost luxury and style. Six suites offer complete seclusion and stunning views, while the Lodge itself has an atmospheric air-conditioned Library, Curio Shop and Dining and Sitting Areas with fantastic outlooks onto the bush.

    At Royal Malewane, our luxury game lodge accommodation comes with three choices: you can choose to stay in one of our six beautiful double suites, either of our two 4-person suites or choose our luxurious 6-bedroomed Africa House. Each double suite is blissfully private: you can sit on your deck and watch the wildlife, swim in the pool or take a nap in the spacious bedroom.

Each suite accommodates two guests and enjoys private wooden decks, rim-flow pools and thatched gazebos. The main room contains a fireplace, beautiful dark wooden furniture and canopied king-size bed. Bathrooms are extravagantly sized, full of light and the epitome of indulgence.     Royal Suites

    Royal SuitesSpace and splendor characterise these two suites. Each one of our suites can house four people in fine safari accommodation style, with acres of room for relaxing, dining, sleeping and bathing. A huge outside deck complete with pool allows you to make the most of the wild beauty of the surroundings and enjoy the warmth of the sunshine in complete privacy. Inside, the décor is classic colonial bush style, brimming with old world elegance that is perfectly suited to luxury safari accommodation. Wonderful antiques, paintings and curios are richly evocative of a leisured and luxurious past, whilst the secluded location provides a dreamy romantic escape unsurpassed in its peace and tranquility.

    Africa House (For families and groups of up to 12)

    Accommodation at Africa House is spacious and elegant with vibrantly eclectic furnishings. Light floods into the six ensuite bedrooms, each of which enjoys private outside shower and deck. Antique furniture, carved four-poster beds from Mombasa, plush silk furnishings and Persian rugs create a exotic and luxurious feel.

    All rooms are air-conditioned and en-suite with twin vanity cabinets, generous Victorian-style bathtub and walk-in shower. Each room also has its own private deck and outside shower with spectacular views of the bush.

    Special dinners are one of the highlights of the Royal Malewane game lodge dining experience. The game lodge dining area and lounge overlook the waterhole, often resulting in some spectacular mealtime game viewing. All meals, local beverages and house wines are included. In the Boma, serenaded by frogs and crickets and entertained by traditional singing and dancing, you will enjoy delicious flame-grilled fare under a dazzling canopy of stars. Dinner in our Bedouin tent bedecked with Moroccan lanterns is equally special, as braziers blaze high and a wonderful selection of delectable dishes forms an exotic feast of flavours. We handpick a selection of South Africa’s finest wines to complete each meal.

The chefs source the finest Kosher ingredients and prepare orthodox meals of the highest order. The chefs have been professionally trained in accordance to the Bethdin and the kitchen has been fitted with the latest required equipment.

    Game drives at dawn and dusk form the basic rhythm of the day and to be out in the fresh air as the sun rises and sets is to be realigned with a pattern of deep and ancient significance. In addition, no matter what the time of year, each season has something special to offer in terms of game viewing and game drives. The dry, gold-brown winter bush makes for excellent sightings but the lush green foliage of the summer months brings with it migrant birds and newborn animals. Embrace the unique opportunities of the moment, for nature is generous in her bounty.

    Adding to the photographic experience, Royal Malewane has a state of the art photographic vehicle which has been fully customized to suit both amatuer and professional. The vehicle has been designed with two swivel armchairs for the utmost comfort, and adjustable camera gimbles allowing you to get the perfect shot. The vehicle can be booked on a request basis.

    In addition to the two daily game drives and the option of relaxing or exercising at the Spa in the lap pool or well-equipped gym, activities on a luxury Africa safari are numerous.     Safari Spa

    Royal Malewane Bush Spa is a safari spa that is world-renowned for its beautiful setting and the sheer luxuriousness of its treatments, many of which make inspired use of indigenous ingredients. This is a safari spa offering an oasis of a very special sort – a chance to refresh and restore mind, body and spirit amidst the serenity and peace of the bush.

    Facilities at the safari spa are comprehensive and include a gym with wonderful views, sparkling heated lap pool, steam room, Jacuzzi, hot and cold African baths and private casitas for relaxation or treatments. You are warmly invited to relax around the pool in the central courtyard and drink in the sheer tranquility and harmony of location. In addition, there are healthful juices and snacks available and Wifi with full internet access that make your safari spa that much more convenient. There also is a hair salon where they offer wash and blow dry’s as well as hair treatments(using Joico professional products).

    Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre: animals and birds can be viewed up close as they are nursed back to health, from eagles, owls and vultures to wild dogs, lions and leopard.

    Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre: view unusual species such as wild dogs, the black-footed cat, African wild cat and sable antelope; watch rare vultures feeding.

    Helicopter Flights: For the ultimate luxury Africa safari experience, these offer thrilling viewing of canyons, waterfalls and rock formations.

    Hot Air Balloon Flights: For a more sedate but no less spectacular luxury Africa safari experience, watch the sun rise and survey the African wilderness from the sky in a hot air balloon.
